The Kaulig Companies Championship is one of five major championships contested annually on PGA TOUR Champions for eligible professionals age 50 and over. The 2023 tournament will be held the week of July 12-16 and continues professional golf's 70-year tradition at Firestone Country Club. The champion of the event earns an exemption into the 2024 PLAYERS Championship in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.

  • Winners of co-sponsored or approved PGA TOUR Champions tournaments since the prior year's Kaulig Companies Championship
  • Winners of major championships on PGA TOUR Champions (Regions Tradition, Senior PGA Championship, U.S. Senior Open, Kaulig Companies Championship, Senior Open Championship) in the preceding 5 calendar years and the current year
  • The top 4 available and not otherwise exempt players from the Current Year's Charles Schwab Cup Money List, in order of their position through the U.S. Senior Open
  • At the invitation of the host organization, up to 4 players not otherwise exempt for the Kaulig Companies Championship, provided such players shall be winners, whose victories are considered official, of a PGA TOUR or PGA TOUR Champions tournament
  • If needed to fill the field of 78 players, those not otherwise exempt, in order from:
    • Previous Year's Charles Schwab Cup Points List to a floor of 54
    • PGA TOUR Points List to a floor of 5 points
    • PGA TOUR Champions Points List to a floor of 5 points

Those receiving charitable proceeds include Akron Children's Hospital, First Tee Greater Akron, LeBron James Family Foundation, University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital, and others.

In conjunction with Northern Ohio Golf Charities, approximately 750 volunteers donate their time to make the Kaulig Companies Championship a success.
